On-Off hire condition and bunker survey are a requirement for the commercial shipping trade, as ships are chartered by their owners who trade cargo worldwide. In order to achieve this, the inspection should be performed either prior to the delivery of the ship on charter or prior to its redelivery from charterers. The reports should be composed of an accurate description of the ship, the accommodation, the ship’s cargo holds, the hull and the cargo gears at least. Last but not least key issue is to indicate the cargo securing equipment, the cleanliness and coating of the paintwork, the remaining bunker and, of course, the validity of the ship’s certificate.
